Fire Pit Use

• When selecting a location for your fire pit there are a few things to consider. You want to find a firm, level, and immovable surface to set your fire pit on. Be sure that this location is away from any structure such as your home, deck, overhangs, tree limbs or anything else that could potentially catch fire. You should also keep it away from heat sensitive plants and trees and dry grass, bales of hay, open firewood, and other materials that could ignite.
• There are several types of wood which work great in fire pits and a few that are detrimental to your health. Never use pressure treated wood. It emits toxic fumes when burned. A good rule of thumb for spotting pressure treated wood is that it has a greenish tint. Also old railroad ties or any wood treated with paint, stain, creosote etc. should not be burned. Types of wood that work well in a fire pit are; scrap pine or spruce lumber, mesquite, red cedar, pinion pine, hickory and eco wood.
• The size of the wood you use will vary depending on the size of your fire pit. We recommend using wood which fits within the unit and does not protrude out of the top. Be sure not to overload the fire pit with wood - you don't want the flames to get too high.

• Fire pits are for outdoor use only!
• Always have a fire extinguisher handy when burning.
• Never leave your fire unattended.
• Be aware of children and pets.
• Do not touch the outside of your fire pit while it is in use.
• Do not burn on a wood surface or any surface which is flammable.
